Colleen Eckert is the Professional Development and Instructional Improvement Coordinator at ECE after recently completing 9.5 years as the PD Coordinator for the Northwest Territories Teachers' Association (NWTTA). After beginning her teaching career in Ontario, Colleen headed north to teach in Gjoa Haven, NU for four years and nine years in Cambridge Bay, NU. She finished her time in Nunavut working for the Nunavut Teachers’ Association.
Colleen feels her biggest work accomplishments have been bringing three territorial conferences to fruition successfully and under budget (one in NU and 2 in the NWT). Her 14 years in the high arctic have provided wonderful memories and experiences. She lives in Yellowknife with her husband Arthur. Colleen is, for all the right reasons, a true Maple Leaf fan.
